Gemaret
?By no means are Gemaret immortal. A blade would kill them as surely as any other being that roams Varra.?

Gemaret, a term that has described these gifted, or rather cursed, Cogni. What are they? What can they do? I have no doubt that many questions haunt your mind, so I will try my best to explain the definition of a Gemaret.

They are no magic users, although they certainly do not roam far from that aspect. No. Gemaret is a term that the Cogni use to describe the people that have been cursed by one of the many shards from the Varian Gem. It is unknown how many Gemaret roam Varra, nor is there an exact list of what powers these beings possess. Though what has been gathered, will be listed here.

Controllers:

Those who wield a natural element. I said wield, not create. There have been Gemaret who were able to control the winds, drown their adversaries in liquid bubbles, bury them without touching their body, or even scorch the flesh of their very bones. Controllers, we call them, for they are unable to create the very element they are wielding. By no means are they restricted to the four natural elements. There have been sightings of Gemaret controlling plants, metals, or even one type of animal.

They also appear to have a lack of control, only able to move their element that is about the size of themselves, or even smaller. No Controller-Gemaret has displayed the power of tsunamis, thunderstorms, or entire houses being lifted. Simply because they cannot control what is beyond their own physical strength.

Morphs:

Gemaret who have obtained a humanoid form of another object or being. Humanoid animals, corpses, their limbs shaped like weaponry, or even their entire skin the sturdiness of rock. It makes them stand out. Although the term Morph refers to one being able to change their shape, these Gemaret do not. They have become whatever the shard made them to be and shall stay that form until their death.

The interesting thing about Morphs, is that their new form is a reflection of their very own person. Or more exact, what they are most affiliated with. Say... A grave digger, could well be taking the form of a corpse or skeleton. (Yes, they could also be morphed into a shovel or a gravestone... Only for shits and giggles, though.) A hunter would change into a what they hunt down the most. Morphs also swap their advantages and disadvantages for the form they have become. For example, a Morph corpse would never feel pain, but would decay over the years. A humanoid feline, or any animal for that matter, would react to their savage instincts rather than their morality.

Oddits:

A name that is given to those with difficult to place abilities. Oddits (Derived from 'Odd one out.') are Gemaret that have shown curious abilities, such as copycat (Mimic ones opponent's abilities.), wall/ceiling crawling, or duplication. These Gemaret are the most diverse, but are very rare as opposed to Controllers or Morphs.
